Answer 10 questions about using waterproof primers
Questions 1:

Why use primer? Is it economical to use primer? Can normal white coating be used to make primer?

Reply:

All paints require primer because the primer will increase alkali resistance (in lime, cement ...) and enhance the waterproofing of the wall surface. Although the non-use of primer is often less effective at construction during construction, in the long run it will reduce the life and aesthetics of the coating: The color coating is uneven, consuming more paint, susceptible to patchy alkalization ... If you do not use primer, you will have to use more coating because the coating will be attracted to the plaster more, as evidenced by the paint color after finishing. it can be darker than a primed wall. While the cost of primer products is cheaper than coating, the system that uses primer is always more economical. Do not use normal white paint to replace primer because this paint does not have the features of primer such as waterproofing, anti-alkali, high adhesion and smooth surface; so it may lead to a situation where the paint color is stained, peeled or the surface is not smooth.

Question 2:

One side used primer and rolled 2 paint coatings and one side did not use primer and rolled 4 paint coatings did I use any method more durable paint?

Reply:

It is recommended to use 1 coat of primer + 2 coats of paint, because 4 coats of paint do make the paint film thicker but still cannot replace the primer function (for example: resistance to alkali, moisture ... ) In addition to using 4 coats of paint, the cost will be much higher than using a primer + 2 coats of paint.

Question 3:

Are outdoor alkali resistant primers used for interior priming?

Reply:

Entirely possible! CPON's outdoor alkali-resistant primer can be put into construction for indoor use, however, it cannot be reversed: Wear alkali-resistant primer in outdoor paint.

Question 4:

What effect does it take to use outdoor plaster for home?

Reply:

The use of outdoor plaster into the house has no effect on durability, however aesthetically it may not meet the requirement because outdoor plaster has a surface that is not as smooth as the plaster in the house.

Question 5:

Can I finish powdering for about 1 month after painting? Do you need to handle anything?

Reply:

May be, but it should be noted: After the plaster must be rinsed immediately then wait for 1 month. If only plastering powder and waiting for 1 month after discharge, it will be very difficult to discharge. In addition, it should be noted: After such a long time, the dust powder at the project will stick to the wall surface very much, so special attention should be paid to the surface cleaning before painting.

Question 6:

Did the inside plaster effect affect the house?

Reply:

It is recommended to proceed in the right order when painting: Outdoors before and after in the house as this will limit rainwater infiltration from the outdoor to adversely affect the inner powder and paint. If the outside has primed paint, it may be possible to proceed with the previous color paint and then paint outside. So there will be no impact on quality. If you still want to plaster the inside first, BEFORE EXTERIOR PAINT MUST MEASURE THE WALL MOISTURE IN THE OUT-OF-THE-WAY TO make sure the wall is no longer damp.

Question 7:

What elements do the walls need before painting?

Reply:

Before painting, the wall surface should be ensured with 2 elements: CLEAN and DRY. CLEAN SURFACE is a surface free of dirt, grease, moss, chalk ... or any element that reduces the adhesion of the paint film. Wall moisture should be below 16% when measured with a new Protimeter moisture meter suitable for construction. In case there is no measuring machine, it is recommended to wait for the wall to dry for 3 - 4 weeks after the plastering process in the DRYING WEATHER CONDITIONS.

Question 8:

I stripped off the wallpaper. How do I handle walls to repaint?

Reply:

After peeling off the wallpaper, the wall surface must be thoroughly cleaned of old stains, glue on the old surface with solvents or sandpaper. If the surface has a hole, it must be plastered with plaster, dry. Rinse rough, clean and then re-paint according to 1 primer system and 2 CPON coatings.

Question 9:

I want to repaint it on a whitewashed wall, how should I handle it? Does the work only use lime, then is the coating safe?

Reply:

With whitewashed walls, it is best to dispose of the old lime layer (with a wire brush or an alder), then proceed to clean the wall surface, plaster the powder and paint. If the lime layer is not treated properly, when the paint is applied, the new paint layer may be peeled off because the lime layer below has poor adhesion.

Question 10:

I want to repaint the house with CPON paint that I used to use other paints before, do I have to handle anything? I am painting MIPEC can now paint CPON?

Reply:

If the old paint layer no longer adheres well, it is necessary to completely remove the old paint layer (with effervescent or iron brush), then clean the surface and then plaster the powder, alkali-resistant primer and finish paint. If the old coating still adheres well, just clean the surface to be painted, then paint 1 primer and 2 coats of CPON. To determine if the old paint layer still holds d
